You will be collected from your hotel around 09:00 and taken to Marmaris harbour. Our friendly staff will meet you at our boat and we will sail to Dalyan, which will take approximately 1 hour 30 min.
Arriving in Dalyan, you will be served lunch on the boat. After lunch, we will move on to the river boats and sail up the river in a convoy of 10-15 small boats.
Here you will have chance to see the inspiring 4th century BC Lycian rock tombs, carved high in the rocky cliffs. The history of the Royal family who lived here will be told, and it may well remind you of Romeo and Juliet. We will disembark the river boats near the ancient Caunos harbor to wander among the ruins of this great port. The ruins of this ancient port date from Hellenic period (5th century BC), a time when Caunos was a major trade port.
After you have explored the historical side of Dalyan you will then have chance to bathe in the famous mud bath. Ancient stories suggest that the Mud pond is the fountain of youth.
Leaving Dalyan, we will then sail to Turtle Beach where the Caretta-Caretta turtles lay their eggs. We will stay for a break of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. One side of the beach is the saltwater sea, whilst the other side is the fresh water river. Where the sea and the river meet, there is a natural phenomenon of a whirlpool preventing the waters from mixing.
On the sail back to Marmaris feel free to relax and enjoy the journey. Don't forget to bring your camera for this adventure.
